So on Sunday Ive got my last autocross for the year and apparently my dad and I have been roped into being the new tech team. We've both observed how tech is supposed to go and have a general idea of what we're doing but I figured if anybody here had some experience who might have some good advice it definitely wouldn't hurt to ask. Have a rather crappy side by side of my dad and I competing. Thanks!

SCCA? I know in SCCA there's a training you have to get to be the inspector. As far as I know, they check the battery is secured, tires useable, not flat, no suspension/wheel alignment slack, seatbelt and seats mounted firmly, no loose items in the car, no leaks, and number/class markers large enough and visible enough to be seen from a distance (no blue painters tape on blue car, etc)

SCCA, we've been through training but neither of us have done it by ourselves. We know what we're looking for but we just don't want to overlook anything.

I am not in the SCCA, but we (in Canada) base pretty much all our rules on the SCCA.
When I do tech, I have my checklist, and the mindset:
Would I ride in this car as it is now? I find that usually makes me take a second look around.
That being said, mostly use the checklist.

Might help to bring some crib notes!
